The Health Minister on Monday disclosed that out of the 2,000 samples tested from the Cordelia cruise ship, 66 passengers have tested positive for Covid-19.
He said that the respective collectors and MPT staff have been informed of the same.
The cruise ship left from Mumbai and upon berthing at Goa, a crew member tested positive for Covid-19. Following this, samples of all 2,000 persons onboard the ship were collected and were sent for testing. The crew member who tested positive has been isolated on the ship.
The state government is yet to take a decision on disembarking the passengers who were found negative. “The authorities will decide whether to allow disembarking of passengers from the ship. Goa being a tourist state, it is a matter of great concern,” the HM stated in a tweet.
