Pernem police have booked seven persons for allegedly locking the main entrance of an ancestral house in Korgao and preventing a family from entering the property.
According to police, Kiran Korgaonkar (59), a resident of Devalwada-Korgao, lodged a complaint stating that the incident took place near Kamleshwar Temple at Pethechawada, Korgao, on October 1 at around 10.30 am.
Korgaonkar alleged that the accused locked the main entrance of the ancestral house, preventing him and his family from entering. The complaint also alleges that they damaged the CCTV system and other property and threatened the family with dire consequences.
Based on the complaint, Pernem police registered an offence against Prabhat Shashikant Korgaonkar, Narendra Korgaonkar and Shweta Narendra Korgaonkar, all residents of Pethechawada-Korgao; Sujata Naik of Panaji; Deepika Kamulkar and Dilip Kamulkar, both residents of Goregaon West, Mumbai; and Sadanand Korgaonkar of Malad, Mumbai.
Further investigation is being conducted by Pernem PSI Aditya Gad.
