CANACONA
The Returning Officer has formed eight different teams to ensure free and fair elections in Canacona.
The eight teams consist of Flying Squads (3), accounting team, asst expenditure observer video viewing team, video viewing team, video surveillance team, sector officer team, static surveillance team (Pollem checkpost) and static surveillance team (railway station). The three different flying squads are moving and frequenting residential and market areas to keep a watch on any violations of the election code of conduct.
One flying squad led by Rajendra Sawant looks after the areas in the municipality, Agonda, Gulem and Chapoli, while the second flying squad led by Hemant Kumar Gavnekar monitors the areas in Loliem, Poinguinim, Galgibaga and Polem. The third flying squad keeps vigil in the areas of Bhatpal, Shrishthal, Partagal, Amone, Gaondongrim and Khotigao.
An Asstt Expenditure Observer Video Viewing Team has been formed under the leadership of Carmo J S Pacheco to keep a check on expenses being incurred by or on behalf of candidates.
