An 80-year-old man committed suicide at the entrance of his house at Badsarem, Gaondongrim on Sunday morning.
According to Canacona police, Laxman Gaonkar had a paralysis stroke last year and was undergoing treatment at Karwar. He was unable to walk properly and was staying with his daughter in Karwar.
He had come a week ago to his house at Badsarem, where he ended his life on Sunday morning.
Canacona police conducted the panchanama and referred the body for an autopsy at the South Goa District Hospital at Margao. The body was handed over to family members for final rites.
