South Goa District Magistrate Egna Cletus, IAS, has said that the district administration has achieved an 82 per cent disposal rate in respect of applications received for regularisation of houses in South Goa under the Goa Regularisation of Unauthorised Construction Act, 2016.
Asserting that bottlenecks which had hampered the regularisation of houses were removed and the implementation streamlined, the District Magistrate said that the latest progress report dated October 3, 2025, showed that of the total 5,106 applications received for regularisation of houses, around 4,256 applications have been disposed of to date ” a disposal strike rate of 82 per cent.
In fact, the District Magistrate has asserted that no impediment exists in South Goa district, suggesting that the process of regularising houses under the Goa Regularisation of Unauthorised Construction Act, 2016, has not come to a halt.
“All operational and procedural bottlenecks that were earlier observed have been fully addressed and streamlined. The Revenue Department has recently issued a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) incorporating the inputs and requirements of all stakeholder departments, including TCP, PWD, and local bodies. This has ensured that the process of scrutiny and disposal of regularisation applications continues seamlessly,” she said.
While saying that 4,256 out of the 5,106 applications have been disposed of to date, the Collector pointed out that the remaining applications are under various stages of processing and inspection.
She said the district administration remains fully committed to ensuring that all eligible applications are processed in a time-bound and transparent manner.
The District Collector has advised applicants to coordinate with their respective Deputy Collectors and Mamlatdars’ offices for any clarification or update regarding their pending applications.
