The North Goa collector has notified 9 major zones in Panaji aspay parking areas along roadside for two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
As per the notification issued by North Goa Collector, R Manekaaround 9 major roads are notified as pay parking roads.
Following zones are notified as pay parking zones in the secondphase. The Patto Plaza, road leading from Old Patto bridge to Vrindavanbuilding (Opposite Government quarters, Patto Panaji), MG Road (Mhamai Kamathouse to Caculo island). Along roadside from Betim ferry to Sulabh toilet on DBRoad, Keni petrol pump (near old Patto bridge) to Old Patto bridge, Largo daEstancio to head post office, behind post Master General office to PredioAbilio Coelho-Pereira building on DB Marg, from Menezes Braganza road to Cedmarappartment via Neptune hotel, back side of State of India (Hotel Mandovi toCustom house Gen. Assa road behind Customs House and infront of GSTCommissioner Office MG Road, Vinanti Hotel and side of Customs House touchingDB Marg Panaji, road between 18th June Road and Menezes Braganza road uptoFrank Chamber, General Bernardo Guedes road (from Inox to Geeta Bakery toGovernment Printing Press).
The minimum fee for two wheeler parking is Rs 4 for first 4hours, from 4 to 12 hours it is Rs 8 and above is Rs 15.
The minimum fee for four -wheeler parking is Rs 20 for initial 1 hour and for subsecuentadditional hour it is Rs 15.
Earlier, in the first phase, government had notified payparking in some areas where pay parking is already implemented through acontractor Juwarkar Associates.
The pay parking areas comprises of 18th June road commencingfrom junction of AB Road, Elvina Britto Road and Cunha Riveira road to DB Margvia Pharmacy College, AB Road commencing from John Paul building to CaritasComplex, Dom Joao de Castro Road commencing from Old Patto Bridge to OldSecretariat, Elvina Britto Road (Church Square), Roque Souza road commencingfrom Elvina Britto road to MG Road via Velho Filhos building, Cunha Riveiraroad commencing from 18th June Road to MG Road via Hindu Pharmacy, link roadbetween Cunha Riveira Road and Roque Souza Road, Messias Gomes Road commencingfrom road between Cunha Riveira Road and Roque Souza Road and Campal HeritagePrecinct.
CCP to implement pay parking in new areas from October.
“The tender process will start from next month and pay parkingwill be implemented in October”, informed Mayor Uday Madkaikar.
