9 booked for ‘abducting’ builder’s son

Nine persons have been booked by Porvorim police on charges of abducting the son of a builder.

According to Porvorim police, the builder’s son, who resides in Salvador do Mundo, had filed a complaint stating that on March 23, one of the accused had called him to see a flat. On reaching the site, two other accused seized his mobile phone and keys of his car and also assaulted him and threatened him with dire consequences.

Later with the help of five other accused, he was forcibly made to sit in a car and was taken to Mapusa, where he was assaulted again.

Acting on the complaint, Porvorim Police registered the offence against the nine accused comprising two from Santa Cruz, four from Mapusa, one from Chimbel and two drivers, under various Sections of IPC.

Meantime, some of the accused have filed a counter-complaint against the builder’s son, accusing him of having filed a fake complaint against them. Police are investigating the case.
