AAP viewed the move as an ostensible rather than a well-intentioned salvo against black money and corruption in the country.
In a statement, AAP declared, “We have always fought against black money and corruption. We are committed to rid India of these twin evils and have steadfastly stood against corruption. Last night, PM Modi made an autocratic announcement. Unfortunately we found no logical answer on how this move will end black money.” AAP demanded to know how the Central government took the decision instantly despite knowing that it would affect the entire country.
Disclosing that the party leadership held intense discussions and that several economists and experts were consulted to find out exactly how will this move stop black money. AAP criticised the scheme terming it as a ‘scheme to harass the common people and protect the crocodiles who are the real culprits and looted thousands of crores as they are cronies of the ruling elite’.
