Hailing the unity and comradeship displayed by the people of Sattari in support of Melauli villagers, Aam Aadmi Party said this unity forced the arrogant Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to speak to the protesting villagers.
AAP Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre said it was indeed very heartening to see other villagers walking the long distance to Melauli to express their support and solidarity. “This growing unity forced Rane to bow to their will,” he added.
“Despite being their local MLA Vishwajit was earlier not even willing to talk to the poor villagers but is now forced to do so. This is a victory for the villagers and Goans,” he said adding that it just proves that pride goes before a fall and the will of the people of prevails.
He pointed out that Vishwajit and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant were not on the same page on the issue and were speaking different languages. This shows that the BJP government is divided, he added.
“After seeing the strength of the common people of Sattari, the Ranes have started fearing for their thrones. The father-son duo has taken the electorate for a ride,” he said.
Rahul questioned the Congress role in the whole matter and pointed out that Pratapsingh Rane, who is considered like a father in the area, is totally silent despite having represented those people in the past.
