Aam Admi Party leader Siddesh Bhagat on Tuesday tendered his resignation from all primary positions, roles, and responsibilities within the party.

In a letter addressed to AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagat said, “This decision has not been taken lightly. I joined the party with the sincere belief that it would uphold clean politics, empower grassroots leadership, and protect the unique identity of Goa. Goa is not merely a state-it is our mother. It has shaped our culture, values, and way of life. To protect our motherland and its identity, one must be prepared to go to any extent”.

He, however, said over a period of time, he has observed that the party is gradually deviating from its core agenda of safeguarding Goa and respecting the sentiments of Goans. Several local and indirect issues affecting our people have been consistently raised by me, yet they have not received due attention. What Goa wants, Goans understand the best, he said.

He added: “More importantly, I am deeply concerned that the party's high command has repeatedly bypassed and overruled local leadership in Goa. Decisions that directly impact Goa should be taken by Goans who understand the ground realities, and not imposed by a distant high command unfamiliar with local sensitivities. For me, what matters is my constituency of Navelim. I cannot, in good conscience, continue in a system where local aspirations are sidelined”.
