AAP promises to rid State of corruption within 90 days
Traffic, tenders, mining, transport and bill payments to be included in e-Governance

The Aam Aadmi Party’s Chief Ministerial candidate Elvis Gomes has promised to root out corruption within 90 days of coming to power through implementing e-governance in the State.
“E-Governance is required in all departments of the government. People are not getting enough services because of the lethargy and total collapse of functional systems,” Gomes said adding that 90 days from being sworn in is all it takes to cleanse the State's departments of corruption.
To implement this, AAP has brought on board Edwin Domnic Vaz, who is contesting from Curtorim constituency. Edwin is a qualified engineer and has over 10 years of experience in technology companies in Japan. “I am confident that our e-Governance project will be implemented in the most seamless manner with Edwin on our side. He is a technocrat, young and above all, has apt qualifications and experience to implement this project,” added Gomes.
Some immediate areas where consumers would see the impact of e-Governance are traffic offence automation, e-tender process of different sectors including mining and transport services, bill payments automation, digitization of all kinds of payments.
The AAP has also promised to create 50,000 new jobs and according to Elvis, the plan includes a push for private sector to reserve jobs for Goan youth.
“The companies who do not hire Goans, will be taxed more than their counterparts. We also intend to push for creation of skill-development and training centers across the State to achieve our target of these 50,000 new jobs,” said Gomes. “Reputed global and Indian B-schools, film, media institutes will be invited to set-up campuses in Goa creating a fresh pool of highly skilled workforce, in the State,” he added.
In a bid to woo the significant Scheduled Tribes community towards the party ahead of the February 4 election, Aam Admi party Chief Ministerial candidate Elvis Gomes on Thursday said the party will ensure that the constitutional provisions and benefits of SC/ST communities will be effectively implemented for their socio-economic; educational and political development.
Addressing the media in the presence of ST leaders and party candidates belonging to the community, Gomes said that AAP has fielded the highest number of ST candidates in the Assembly election, saying it only goes to show the party’s commitment to mete out justice for the community.
“Despite accounting for almost 1/10th of Goa’s population, scheduled tribes have been systematically discriminated against while the answers to their problems are widely known to all”, he said. Saying that AAP government will ensure that jobs reserved for SC/ST will be given to SC/ST only, Gomes said AAP will push for higher tribal community representation in the state Assembly.
