The Aam Aadmi Party said despite being a rich State culturally and even financially Goa has reduced to shambles thanks to its successive wrong governance by both the Congress party and the Bharatiya Janata Party and the ensuing Zilla Panchayat elections should be an opportunity for Goans to teach these parties a befitting lesson.
AAP Goa convenor Rahul Mhambre urged the people of Goa to vote and elect the candidates fielded by AAP so that the corrupt and anti-Goan political parties get a clear message that Goans want to be ruled by people of the State and not Delhi bigwigs.
He accused the ruling BJP of totally neglecting Goans and governing the State only to help its business friends and Delhi leaders. “Though Goans do not want coal transportation BJP is going ahead with double-tracking of the railway track to enable Adani and Vedanta to transport coal from MPT to Karnataka,” he said.
Besides, he pointed out how BJP misused the government machinery and public funds to help its supporters and well-wishers in what is now called the “Labour Gate scam” wherein money collected for the welfare of contract labourers was distributed only to BJP supporters and well-wishers and not the poor labourers who truly needed it.
Rahul also said the pandemic was spreading in Goa only because of the negligence of the BJP government and said CM Pramod Sawant’s ‘bhivpachi garaz na’ has turned into a joke as the cases are increasing along with people dying due to Coronavirus.
He also pointed out that despite having a higher budget, the BJP government is hardly providing any facilities to Goans while in Delhi the AAP government is giving many things even though its budget is meagre compared to Goa.
