Siolim ward locals withdraw poll boycott

In a major relief for the State government, political parties and candidates, locals of Gude-Siolim on Friday decided to withdraw their decision to boycott the ZP polls and will exercise their franchise on Saturday.

Their decision was taken at a meeting on Friday after receiving an assurance from the government to resolve the water shortage problems and with the PWD bringing the required material to the ward to lay a new pipeline.

However, they warned of a bigger protest if the government fails to honour its promise and they continue to face water shortage in the ward.
