The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday decried the political happenings in the state.

Pointing out that there has been a battle for succession to the Chief Minister’s seat for some months now, the party felt that the basic needs of the common man were not being tended to.

AAP convenor Elvis Gomes and AAP General Secretary Pradeep Padgaonkar said that the common man was even deprived of water and uninterrupted power, during the festive Chaturthi season.

Gomes said that while the BJP was fighting to save their minority government, the leadership had no trust in their second rung. It also slammed the Opposition for being clueless about how to go forward.

AAP condemned the neglect of the basic needs of the people such as water, electricity, health, education, and jobs.

“It’s a free for all situation with middlemen dictating the government’s functioning,” said Gomes.

Padgaonkar questioned Goa Forward Party’s silence over news that some coalition partners would be joining the BJP to take over from Parrikar.

“GFP had, during assembly elections, claimed that they were a regional party and there was no High Command. If this is the case, why they are bending before the BJP / RSS leadership,” asked Padgaonkar.
