Party highlights poor roads

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at the weekend took its #BJPCheBurak protest to Valpoi and its ‘Goyenchio Gozali’ campaign to Sanquelim.
On Saturday, AAP leaders and volunteers highlighted the condition of roads there, planting BJP flags in potholes along the Nagargao road stretch in Velus.
AAP’s vice-presidents, Sunil Singnapurkar and Chetan Kamat, along with youth leaders Rohan Naik and Salman Khan, led a group of local volunteers in the protest.
Singnapurkar said the government is risking people’s lives by leaving roads in pathetic and dangerous conditions, which are virtual death traps, a press release issued by the party said.
“Contractors who delivered such substandard work must be forced to repair the roads using their security deposits. Only then will there be accountability,” Singnapurkar added.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, AAP launched its ‘Goencho Gazali’ campaign in Sanquelim, where its leaders and volunteers interacted with traders and locals who, it claimed, voiced their frustration over years of neglect.
Singnapurkar, Kamat and Khan, along with a group of local party volunteers, visited the Sanquelim market and interacted with small vendors, hotel owners and daily wage workers, who poured out their problems, the party said.
