AAP to initiate alliance talks with Congress, GFP and RGP

PANAJI
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has stepped up efforts to unite the Opposition ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections and will soon meet leaders of the Congress and Goa Forward Party (GFP) to discuss a possible electoral alliance against the BJP.

AAP Goa’s Alliance Coordination Committee, comprising State President Valmiki Naik, Working President Gerson Gomes and Organisation Secretary Prashant Naik, met in Panaji on Saturday to discuss the roadmap for a possible pre-poll alliance.

In a statement issued post meeting, Naik said the party would make every effort to build a united opposition front.

“We will make every effort to form an alliance for the Assembly elections. Accordingly, an AAP committee is set to meet Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar, Goa Forward Party leader Vijai Sardesai and Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) president Viresh Borkar in the coming days,” he said. The development comes even as Congress and the Goa Forward Party signalled closer coordination.
