Atishi, Venzy say high turnout reflects public anger against govt

Aam Aadmi Party leaders and volunteers were in smiles after polling ended at 5 pm with party leaders exuding confidence that the public sentiment against the government will be visible when votes cast in the Zilla panchayat polls are taken up for counting on December 22.
Party Goa desk in-charge, Atishi Marlena and party Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas said the huge voting percentage is a clear indication that voters have come out to vote against the government.
Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas exuded confidence that Benaulim and Colva will give a clear mandate to the Aam Aadmi Party in the election. “Benaulim had given a huge lead for party sitting ZP member Joseph Pimenta. We expect the trend to continue in the ZP polls and in the future. The way people have come out to exercise their franchise shows that they have voted for AAP candidates in both Colva and Benaulim,” he said.
Thanking AAP volunteers for working tirelessly in support of the party candidates, Venzy said the party will continue to introduce innovative works for the benefit of the people.
Atishi Marlena was categorical in saying that public sentiment across Goa shows that they do not vote BJP to rule Goa. “When more people come out to vote, it shows that the people lay stress against the government. You will see the negative sentiment against the BJP in the results,” he added.
Thanking party workers for having participated in the door-to-door campaign, Atishi said the hard and honest work put in by AAP volunteers have brought large number of people on polling day.
