The BJP has exuded confidence of retaining the Davolirm Zilla Panchayat seat, with Party leader and Chairman Goa Haj Committee Urfan Mulla said that Muslims from the Rumdamol Housing Board area have voted for the BJP candidate in appreciation of the Mhaje Ghar scheme brought out by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and BJP State President Damu Naik.

BJP Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar further said that the BJP will win both the Davorlim and Navelim seats in the ZP polls.

Urfan Mulla told the media that that members of the Muslim community have rallied behind the BJP candidate Satyavijay Naik in Saturday’s polling, saying the trend will continue in future elections as well. “The Mhaje Ghar scheme brought by Chief Minister will help the Muslim community to get their houses legalised. We have distributed the forms to every house in Rumdamol and we are confident that the Muslim community will vote for BJP and help win the Davorlim seat,” he added.

To a question, Mulla said that Muslims have changed their mind set toward the BJP which is presently headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and State President Damu Naik.

...bets on Independents to expand in Salcete

MARGAO: Ruling BJP MLA Sankalp Amonkar has said that after the party created history by winning the Navelim seat in the 2022 Assembly election, the party has now turned its focus on Velim and Curtorim.

He, however, hastened to add that the BJP has extended support to Independents wherever the party lacks the wherewithal to contest election in minority Salcete. “The Party had made history in the 2022 Assembly election by winning the Navelim seat. The same trend will continue in other constituencies as well, including Curtorim and Velim. Already, the Curtorim Independent MLA Reginaldo Lourenco is BJP’s alliance partner,” he added.
