ACB receives +ve voice sample reports of three graft cases

the goan I networkrPANAJIrAnti Corruption Branch of Department of Vigilance has received positive voice sample reports in three cases including that of Dilip Malvankar. The anti-graft sleuths will now seek government sanction to chargesheet Malvankar, brother-in-law of former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar. rThe other two positive voice sample reports received by the ACB pertain to the graft cases involving former sarpanchas Ramakant Borkar of Sancoale and Rajesh Dabhale of Pale-Ucassaim. Speaking to media persons, Superintendent of Police (ACB) Bosco George stated, “We have received voice samples from laboratories in three cases including the Malvankar case. This procedure takes time but positive reports have come. The cases will see light of the day in the next month or so.” rDilip Malvankar, a field officer attached to Goa State Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), was arrested by the ACB in August 2015 after he was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh in lieu of allotment of a plot at Tuem Industrial Estate. Another GIDC officer Ajit Gaunekar was also arrested by the ACB. The duo was booked under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. rJaipur-based industrialist Sanjay Kumawat had been allotted an industrial plot to manufacture Ayurvedic medicines at Tuem Industrial Estate in 2012. However, he alleged that Malvankar and Gaunekar were creating hurdles in giving the possession of the land. rThe voice samples of Malvankar match the voice pulled from the voice recording, wherein Malvankar has made the demand for a bribe of Rs one lakh, submitted as evidence by the complainant. The recording was attached by the ACB during the preliminary investigation conducted prior to laying a trap.
