Acharya Balkrishna honoured with honorary PhD by UPES

Acharya Balkrishna, General Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth, was conferred with an honorary Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) during the 23rd Convocation Ceremony of its School of Business.

As the chief guest at the event, Acharya Balkrishna was felicitated for his remarkable contributions to business and social service. On his arrival, he was welcomed by the UPES management, faculty, and students.

Addressing the graduates, Acharya Balkrishna said that consistency, dedication, and engagement in service are the true strengths that drive progress. He added that under the guidance of Swami Ramdev and through the efforts of millions associated with Patanjali, the organisation continues to expand its global welfare initiatives. The honour, he said, would further inspire him to strengthen his commitment to service.

UPES Vice-Chancellor Dr Ram Sharma lauded Acharya Balkrishna’s selfless contribution to humanity and described the Patanjali model as one of India’s leading business models rooted in traditional values. He said many entrepreneurs draw inspiration from Patanjali’s approach, which strengthens trust among consumers.

Acharya Balkrishna expressed gratitude to UPES Chancellor Dr Sunil Roy, Vice-Chancellor Dr Ram Sharma, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Jai Shankar, Registrar Prof Manish Madan, Director of the School of Business Prof Rahul Nainwal, Dean of Research Dr Ashwini Nangia, Schlumberger MD Mr Lalit Agarwal, and members of the Academic Council and Governing Body.
