Some voters wanted correction in their names, while others wanted to include new names and a change in constituency. Speaking to The Goan, Shaik Ismail said he had submitted forms for correction of name and for addition of new name and for this was called by the Talathi for the hearing with all documentary proof. “I was also asked to get coloured photograph as new election cards and electoral roll will be in colour,” said Ismail.
Another voter, Venktesh Bullappa said he had filled a form to change constituency from Vasco to Mormugao and he was called with his new residence and old election card as proof to change the constituency. When contacted, the officials conducting the hearing said during the recent election survey, voters were told to submit their forms for addition, deletion, correction of names and change in address before October 14.
