Former union minister Ramakant Khalap has said cooperative organisations like Bardez Bazaar need to adopt to new technology and expand its working area to make them more vibrant.
He was addressing a programme organised on the occasion of 69th National Cooperative Week at Bardez Bazaar complex in Mapusa.
The programme, organised in association with Goa State Cooperative Union and Bardez Bazaar, was attended by Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza, Mapusa Municipal Council Chairperson Shubhangi Vaingankar, Councillor Sudhir Kandolkar, Bardez Bazaar Chairman Dharma Chodankar and others.
Stating that Bardez Bazaar is trying to open the first mall in the cooperative sector, Deputy Speaker Josua D’Souza said it would be a matter of great pride if that materialises and assured all support to the venture.
He also lauded Bardez Bazaar for creating goodwill among customers by charging lower that the printed rates.
On the occasion, employees Lata Kalangutkar and Priyanka Sawant as well as Self-Help Group leader Hemashree Gadekar and her husband, Hanumant, were felicitated.
