After Cuncolim, Kejriwal set to regale Benaulikars

To be back in Salcete during the weekend

MARGAO
After addressing an impressive meeting of the party on December 19 at Cuncolim, Aam Admi Party national leader and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal returns to Salcete again during the weekend “ this time on the famous Dando grounds, Benaulim to drum up support for party candidate Royla Fernandes.
That Kejriwal returns to Salcete in less than a month’s to give a boost to the party’s campaign in politically dominant taluka, where as many as eight Assembly elections are stake, indicates that the party leadership is preparing the ground work before positioning itself to launch a full scale attack during the campaign period.
Incidentally, Benaulim constituency had received much importance from AAP leadership from day one, having kicked off the party’s 2017 Assembly election from the high profile constituency months before other political players and parties went to the drawing room to formulate the poll strategies.
Last time, Kejriwal addressed the impressive meeting at Cuncolim on Goa Liberation Day, he declared party Cuncolim candidate and bureaucrat-turned-politician Elvis Gomes as AAP Chief Ministerial candidate.
AAP Goa Coordinator, Elvis told The Goan that Kejrival is expected to address a meeting at the Dando ground on January 7. He, however, tried to downplay Kejriwal’s presence in Salcete for the second time in less than a month, saying that Delhi Chief Minister will also address a meeting at Vasco on the same day and another two meeting in North Goa at Mapusa and Sanquelim the following day on Sunday.
“We have worked out a scheduled wherein Kejriwal will address a series of meetings at various constituencies in the state till late January. Since most of our candidates are already working on the ground, Kejriwal’s presence at meetings will certainly give a big fillip to the contesting candidates,” Elvis said.
In the meantime, the People of Carmona plan to submit a ‘Charter of Demands’ after consultation and feedback from villagers on various issues related to the village to all Benaulim constituency aspirants to get their reply in black and white before polls.
Alwyn George told The Goan that the a ‘Meet the People’ event is being planned in Benaulim constituency so that People get an opportunity to directly question the candidates for their reply.
“We hope that people from other villages also takes a similar initiative so as to bring accountability in candidates,” he added.
