A day after 19 officers of the rank of police inspectors were shuffled around including as in-charges of a dozen police stations, the Goa police establishment board has now executed a shake-up lower down in its hierarchy.
A dozen assistant sub-inspectors, 26 head constables and 47 constables were transferred on Friday.
Touted as one of the most politically influenced force owing to Goa’s tiny size and minuscule jurisdictions of police stations, the reshuffle was expected following the change in guard post the recent elections.
Ministers and legislators from the ruling camp are known to routinely liaise with the minister holding the home portfolio to ensure the posting of favoured officers in police stations in the jurisdiction of their constituencies.
Home is one of the several crucial portfolios that has been retained by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
Just a day before, in a major reshuffle, 19 officers of the rank of police inspectors including a dozen who were in-charge of police stations were transferred.
