Days after students from his Valpoi constituency marched in protest against poor internet connectivity, the Health Minister on Thursday said he has taken up the issue pertaining to mobile network connectivity with the General Manager of BSNL.
The local MLA said he had requested them to resolve the connectivity issues promptly, adding that all local elected representatives will be taken on board to engage with the BSNL officials.
”We shall be having a meeting with all the panch members in this regard along with representatives of BSNL," the minister said.
He also said he will urge Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to take up the matter formally with the BSNL as apart from Valpoi, such internet connectivity issues are prevalent across the State in different regions, particularly rural areas.
Like last year, this year internet connectivity is crucial for students with all academic work being carried out in the digital mode.
Earlier this week, students from Sattari taluka had marched to the BSNL's Valpoi office earlier this week to demand better internet connectivity so that they are able to attend their online classes and other virtual academic work.
