Hitting back at the statement made by Congress spokesperson Agnelo Fernandes earlier in the week that the grand old party would not have any alliance with Nationalist Congress Party because of the linkages between NCP and BJP in Maharashtra, NCP vice president Salim Sayed declared that it has exposed his allegiance to the BJP.
NCP hinted that Agnelo intended to fool the people of Goa. "Fernandes should understand that alliances are not decided by local units but by the respective party high commands," Sayed stated.
“He (Fernandes) should not teach us about secularism. People of Calangute and Saligao constituencies have witnessed how the former MLA worked overnight to defeat secular candidates at the recently held zilla panchayat elections,” Sayed stated.
Taking aim at Fernandes’s political ambitions, Sayed said that this fact would be testified by the ‘future Congress candidate of Calangute’ Joseph Sequeira and North Goa District Congress vice president Jayesh Salgaonkar.
