Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel along with G20 Summit Nodal Officer and Secretary (Protocol) Sanjit Rodrigues and other heads of the department carried out a joint inspection near the Goa Airport ahead of the G20 Summit.
“We are conducting a joint inspection ahead of the eighth G20 Summit scheduled in Goa. We have around eight meetings slated to take place in Goa and we want to show the best of our State to the entire world and this is the reason for this joint inspection," said Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel.
Nodal Officer for G20 Summit Sanjit Rodrigues said roads and highways had been developed and plans were to have good coordination between state and central government departments to ensure that the G20 summit in Goa would be successful.
Goa Airport Director Dhanamjaya Rao said detailed discussions were being held to make the G20 summit a grand success.
Other officials present during the inspection included South Goa police SP Abhisek Dhaniya, Traffic SP South Prabodh Shirvoikar, Vasco Traffic PI Shailesh Narvekar, Airport Traffic PI Rahul Damshekar and other department officials.
It may be recalled that Governor P Shreedharan Pillai had recently chaired a high-level meeting at the Raj Bhavan. The G20 delegation had also met the chief secretary to discuss the operation and logistic challenges, besides discussing the preparedness for the G20 summit.
