The High Court while hearing the petition to act against the AAI for having allowed BJP President Amit Shah's illegal and unlawful public meeting at Dabolim Airport on July 1, took serious note of the claim that the "public meeting" within the airport premises was ‘spontaneous'.
Adv Rodrigues submitted photographs of Shah's public meeting at the Airport, to prove his point that the BJP is on one hand claiming that that all necessary permissions to hold that public meeting were obtained while at the same time also stating that the meeting was not pre-planned but was spontaneous.
Justice G S Patel, sought to know whether he would be allowed to hold his son's birthday party at the airport. Refusing to accept AAI submission that Shah's meeting was spontaneous, the Court questioned as how there was a podium, sofas, red carpet and sound system at the venue if that meeting was not a pre-planned one.
Adv Rodrigues in his petition has sought directions to ensure that the rule of law is upheld by holding an inquiry for fixing the responsibility and taking action in accordance with law against the organisers and those responsible for illegal public meeting in total violation of law.
The HC has said it would pass appropriate orders on Monday while observing that such acts which amounted to breach of law should never be repeated.
