An alert security guard posted at an ATM along the Khorlim-Mapusa road caught a foreign national trying to plant or collect the data skimming device of the machine on Thursday midnight and later handed him to the police.
The accused, Domitro George Yenka (44), a Bulgarian national, has been arrested by Mapusa Police and will be produced for remand on Saturday.
Mapusa Police had received a complaint from the management of GP Parsik Sahakari Bank in Khorlim, Mapua that some unknown persons had attached data skimming device to the ATM machine.
“Yesterday, the accused came to the ATM at around mid-night. The security guard caught hold of him and immediately called the Police Station. Our staff rushed to the bank and took the accused in custody,” PI, Kapil Nayak informed. PSI Francis Xavier is investigating the case.
