PERNEM
Panchayats Minister Rajendra Arlekar on Monday informed that all 190 panchayats in the State would facilitate cashless payments in the near future.
Arlekar was addressing a function after inaugurating a Point of Sale terminal (swiping machine) as part of the cashless mode of payment for Pernem Municipal Council in the presence of PMC Chairperson Smita Kudtarkar, Vice-Chairperson Upendra Deshprabhu and other councillors.
Claiming that PMC is the first civic body in the State to make all their transactions cashless, Arlekar said: “Other civic bodies should take inspiration from PMC and should also facilitate cashless payments in the future.”
Pernem Deputy Collector Harish Adkonkar, Mamletdar Ishant Sawant, Joint Mamletdar Amalia Pinto and PMC Chief Officer Gautami Parmekar were among others present at the function.
