Amid growing allegations that projects in Sanguem constituency are being stalled by some politicians, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant appealed to people not to politicise the issue and assured that all development projects undertaken in Sanguem would be taken up shortly.
He was speaking at a news conference in Sanguem late Sunday evening after addressing a meeting of BJP workers in the run up to the assembly polls in 2022.
“I appeal to people from Sanguem not to politicise the issue that development projects in Sanguem constituency have been halted because of certain politicians. This is not true and all development projects undertaken in Sanguem will be taken up shortly,” said Sawant.
Commenting on the Bendwada bridge, Sawant assured that work on the parallel bridge at Bendwada would resume by January end.
“Pending works of development projects will also be completed at Netravali. I will arrange a special tour to Sanguem to monitor development projects and inaugurate projects, including the Netravali Panchayat Ghar, which has been completed but not inaugurated till date.”
Speaking on the Sanjivani Sugar Factory, the chief minister said the factory would be restarted within 2-3 years.
“The government is working hard to make the factory operational,” said Sawant.
“Till the time the crushing does not commence at Sanjivani Sugar Factory, the government will pay compensation to sugarcane farmers for their crops,” said Sawant.
He assured to take action against party workers who have worked against the party and also assured to order an inquiry into the shoddy work of a crematorium and water tank by a local contractor at Netravali.
Sawant said he has, so far, covered 20 constituencies to motivate party workers and added that he would visit the remaining constituencies over the next few weeks.
