Ambaji skeleton case: Police asked to comb area for more remains

MARGAO
The medico-legal officials attached to the South Goa district hospital have asked the Goa police to comb the area at Ambaji, where a skull and skeletal remains were unearthed earlier this month.

Officials informed that the skeletal remains comprising of a skull, arm and shoulder bones recovered from Ambaji last week would be sent for DNA testing only after the combing operation at the site in question by the police. “We want the police to comb the entire area to find out whether any more bones are still lying at the site. Otherwise, it should not happen that police recover the bones in bits and pieces every few days. Once the area is combed and the possibility of recovering more bones is ruled out, the skeletal remains will be sent for DNA for further investigations,” sources at the South Goa district hospital informed.

The Fatorda police had last week recovered the skeletal remains of a human being from Ambaji while the owner was in the process of cleaning up his property. A a case of unnatural death has been registered.
