The Ravindra Bhavan auditorium was packed to its capacity as tiatr lovers came in large numbers not only to watch the tiatr, which was staged with police protection, but to extend their solidarity with the director. The audience gave Conception a round of applause as he took to the stage to sing the song and was called twice to sing it on demand.
Earlier, as Conception stepped into the Ravindra Bhavan premises, he was overwhelmed to see many people coming towards him to extend their solidarity with him. “When I entered the premises, I thought there was some commotion. But, realization later dawned on me that the tiatr lovers were waiting for me to extend their support. Many of them told me not to drop the song from the Tiatr. I assured them that I will continue to sing the song,” he said, while reiterating that the song is not intended against any person or character.
Profusely thanking his supporters and tiatr lovers, Conception said he is back on stage again because of their good wishes and support. He announced that the next repeat show of Answer will be held on August 4 at the Pai Tiatrist hall, Ravindra bhavan.
Given the violent incident witnessed on stage on Saturday last, the Margao police led by PI C L Patil and his team made their presence felt at the Ravindra bhavan as a precautionary measure.
