Andhra liquor kingpin held

South Goa district police chief Pankaj Kumar Singh has said the Colva cops have managed to apprehend the alleged kingpin of a spurious liquor racket in Andhra Pradesh.

The accused was later handed over to a team of the Andhra Pradesh police.

The Colva PS team led by PI Melson Colaco along with LIB staff Vikas Kaushik, Sudesh Kumar Dessai apprehended M Maarirajan, 56 years, native of Tamil Nadu and a resident of Pedda Benaulim who is the alleged kingpin of a racket involved in transporting spurious liquor at high rates in Andhra Pradesh.

The Andhra police had sought the help of the Colva police to apprehend the accused as investigations revealed that he was staying in the jurisdiction of the police station.
