Ponda police on Thursday arrested Subhash Naik of Pali-Sanquelim in connection with a case of cheating people to the tune of Rs 18 lakh under the pretext of securing government jobs in Ponda area.
Police had earlier arrested Suhana Naik (39) of Amona in this connection.
Subhash Naik has been accused of collecting money from different individuals with the promise of securing them employment at the Goa Medical College (GMC) hospital.
Following the arrest of Subhash Naik, police are likely to arrest more individuals in this case.
Police Inspector Mohan Gawade is supervising investigations into this case under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent Shivram Vaigankar.
