MARGAO
In a development that may raise eyebrows in the Congress camp, State Convenor of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee minority department Riyaz Shaikh has quit the post and also resigned from the primary membership of the Congress.
In his resignation to the GPCC Chief Girish Chodankar, Riyaz, hailing from Margao, said he has taken the decision since Congress minority leader and former Minority Chairman Urfan Mulla had stepped down from Congress party on grounds the minorities were being used without getting any benefits.
“Without my leader, it won’t be possible for me to work for the party,” he said, while urging the GPCC Chief to accept his resignation.
