Another GTDC fest at Campal ground from May 10 to 14

Close on the heels of the Grape Escapade, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation has announced the Goa Food and Cultural Festival 2017, from May 10 to 14 at the Bandodkar Ground at Campal.

According to a statement by the GTDC, the festival is being organised “to showcase the unique culinary aspect of Goa and the Goan culture and traditions through various programs and performances.”  
The GTDC has lined up a collection of rock bands, for the purpose including includes National level rock bands like The Local Train from Delhi, Antariksh from Delhi, Lagori from Bangalore, Bombay Bassment from Mumbai and Bad Blood from Goa.   
“This year, the highlight of this festival will be the mammoth stage that will feature a huge LED wall to feature innovative creative content that is thematic to the festival. This will be a developed animation which will create stunning dynamic backdrops every minute ensuring a visual treat to every visitor,” the GTDC has promised. The festival will also present Goa’s very own legends like Sonia Shirsat & Joe D’Costa, Lorna and many more local Goan artists and performers.  
 The festival will also feature Goa’s very own brew, Feni and will have a live distillation unit on site to educate tourist s about Feni making process.  
The sound and lights is being managed by India’s best sound engineer Roger Drego who has worked for international stars like Jlo, Shakira & Michael Jackson in the past.  
India’s top most lighting designer Michael Nazareth will design the lightings for the festival.

Panel announced for Goa Urban Co-op Bank polls

A panel headed by Dr Govind Kamat has been announced for the upcoming elections to the board of directors of Goa Urban Co-operative Bank. The elections are slated for May 7, where more than one lakh shareholders of the bank are expected to their votes.
