Another worker who was seriously injured in the Tuem factory blast died while undergoing treatment at the Goa Medical College at Bambolim (GMC) on Wednesday. Cremation of the deceased Akhil Bhanudas Naik (25) took place the same day which was attended by former Chief Minister Laximikant Parsekar, Goa Tourism Development Corporation chairman Dayanand Sopte, former ZP member Deepak Kalangutkar and Sarpanch Jeet Arolkar, among a large number of mourners.
A blast in the cement block factory at Tuem on January 12 had seriously injured three workers who were admitted to GMC. One of them - Ajit Nake succumbed to his injuries the next day.
On papers, Rajendra Joshi is the owner of the factory but it is learnt that the son of an ex-minister from Bardez was actually operating the factory. The third injured worker remains to be in a critical condition.
Ayush Minister Shripad Naik has condoled the death of two workers and assured of arranging financial help to the families of the deceased.
