Central para-military forces and anti-sabotage check teams from Karnataka and Maharashtra have descended in the state ahead of Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi’s visit to ONGC, Betul for the India Energy Week and the Viksit Bharat 2041 rally at the Margao KTC bus stand on February 6.

Sources in the police department pointed out that the state had to rope in the anti-sabotage check teams from the neighbouring states given that the Prime Minister is visiting two places in the state on a single day and that the state has only two anti-sabotage check teams.

Besides a team of Special Protection Group, companies of the Rapid Action Force, ITBP and CISF have landed in the state to take charge of security.

The Goa police is expected to mobilize around 1,500-2,000 police personnel for security at the  Viksit Bharat rally at the Margao KTC bus stand.
