The incident occurred moments after the owner Pedrina Coutinho had left for a prayer service at Jakhniband. Taking advantage of the absence of the inmates, the miscreants broke into the apartment and laid their hands on a ring, besides four watches and cash of Rs 9000.
The incident came to light when Pedrina returned home in the evening. Taken aback after she found the lock and latch were hanging on the door, her worst fears came true after she found the house ransacked by the miscreants for the booty. "It's now three years since I have been going for the prayer service every Sunday noon at Jakhbiband. The incident has taken place when we had left for the prayer service", Pedrina told The Goan.
The Margao police are investigating the incident.
Apartment burgled in Margao
In a daring burglary reported in the commercial capital on Sunday noon, miscreants barged into an apartment in Supreme Bomby Plaza at Comba and decamped with gold ornaments and cash.
