The Apna Bazaar zociety felicitated Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Councillor Krishna (Daji) Salkar for having beautified the area around Apna Bazaar building, one of the largest and oldest buildings in the city.
The once shabby area has now been beautified with pavers on all sides and now has a vast expanse of space to facilitate parking in that area.
Rajesh Shirodkar, President of Apna Bazar Society, felicitated Salkar in the presence of Adv Vidhya Shet Tanawade and other members of the society.
The society members also thanked Salkar for having given Vascokars a high mast flag post in the city.
Shirodkar thanked Salkar for responding to their long-pending demand of paving the area around the building, while Arjun Tanawade, a member of the society, expressed happiness as the work was done within a month.
Speaking to reporters, Salkar said large scale works amounting to Rs 2 crore have been taken up in Vasco City.
“Presently, Vasco City has been undergoing a transformation with as many as 6-7 projects, which include work on major gutters, cross drains and beautification works,” Salkar said.
