Appeal for flood relief aid
PANAJI: The Archbishop of Goa and Daman, has called upon parish priests, heads of all institutions and other bodies of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman to pray for the victims of the floods in Chennai and also to assist them monetarily.
In this regard, donations of any amount in cash or cheque should be drawn in favour of Caritas-Goa (with a note that the amount is meant for the flood victims). The amounts collected may be sent to Caritas-Goa (Emergency/Calamities), Account No 025900101018046, Corporation Bank, Dr Atmaram Borkar Road, Opp Municipal Garden, Panjim. The Church through Caritas India has already deployed teams to monitor, respond and coordinate the relief and rebuilding activities in partnership with local Diocesan social service societies.
The Archbishop has requested all pastors and superiors of religious institutions to announce this appeal at Sunday masses and regular meetings
