Arpora local held for homicide

A 40-year-old resident of Arpora was arrested for culpable homicide on Sunday.
According to Calangute Police, the accused, Shirish Govekar, got into an altercation with Nazri Hussain (40) at Kobra-vaddo on November 5, at about 11 am.
The altercation grew into a full blown fight, wherein Shirish picked a bottle and hit Nazri on his head, police informed.
Nazri failed to file a police complaint over the incident, but on November 6, he suddenly collapsed while walking on the road and died.
A post-mortem report revealed that Nazri died of head and chest injuries.
Police, investigating in the matter, swung into action and arrested Shirish under Section 304 IPC for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Calangute Police is investigating the case.
