Viscera report in two weeks
PANAJI: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that he expects the report on the viscera of Bismarque to be ready in two weeks after the State government sent a special messenger to the Hyderabad laboratory to ensure the examination is done quickly.
“Usually the report of the viscera takes as many as six months. In this case we have specially sent a messenger to speed up the examination. We now expect the report in two weeks,” Parsekar said.

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has assured that he will ask the police to have a trustworthy officer, one who has the confidence of the activists to take over the probe into the mysterious death of Bismarque Dias.
Addressing media persons during a press conference, Parsekar said that he has done everything he could to ensure that there is a fair probe, yet an atmosphere of suspicion was being created for reasons he wasn’t aware of.
“I will ask the police to put a trustworthy, and good officer. One who the activists can also trust,” Parsekar said.
When asked if the police action was unnecessarily harsh, Parsekar said that since the protesters stated intent was to defy Section 144, the only option was for the police to bundle them away.
“They said that they were there to defy Section 144. In such a situation, the police can only put them in buses and taken them away,” Parsekar said.
“I am very sympathetic to Bismarque’s family, but things have been blown out of proportion. I don’t mind meeting all the demands of the protesters but they should make it clear what they want,” Parsekar said.
He said that he has, since the day Bismarque went missing, asked the police to probe the angle of foul play and had even sought the speedy report on the viscera, based on a request from Bismarque’s family.
“We have even handed over the case to the Crime Branch to ensure that no one has a doubt about the investigation,” Parsekar said.
He said he had no problem handing over the case to the CBI or to any other investigating agency, but that the Crime Branch should have some time to do its job.
He also confirmed that the vest has been sent for DNA testing and that report is awaited too.
