Anjuna Police has recovered a gold ring belonging to the victim and some blood-stained clothes in the Arpora murder case.
Police got barely one day to interrogate the murder accused as he was admitted in the North Goa District Hospital for high blood sugar from day one, since he was remanded to police custody.
Police sources informed that the accused, Sukhwinder Singh (32) was admitted in the district hospital, Mapusa soon after his arrest on May 3 after he complained of uneasiness.
“The accused was detected of suffering from high diabetes and the doctors attending him advised that he be admitted in the hospital for treatment,” a senior police official said.
Anjuna Police got a day’s time to interrogate the accused after he was discharged from the hospital on Thursday.
“On Friday, once again his blood sugar shot up and he was re-admitted to the hospital,” the senior police officer informed.
It may be recalled the accused, who was involved in the murder of his wife in a holiday apartment in Arpora was nabbed from a Chandigarh hotel on the night of May 2.
Anjuna Police placed him under arrest on May 3 after he confessed of committing the murder of his wife.
A Mapusa court had then remanded him to ten days police custody which ends on May 13.
The body of a woman tourist was found in a pool of blood in the room of a holiday apartment in Arpora on April 26. After investigations police had suspected the husband’s involvement in the murder.
Police said that the husband-wife duo had a heated argument on April 22 resulting in a fight after which the accused slit his wife’s throat with a knife.
The knife was left in the room which has since been recovered, police sources said. Further investigations are on.
