Arpora rape accused remanded

MAPUSA: Mapusa JMFC on Monday remanded the accused, who was arrested on charges of raping his sister-in-law in a holiday home in Arpora, to seven days police custody.

The report of the medical examination, which was conducted on the 42-year-old victim woman, stated that the victim was raped.

It may be recalled that Anjuna Police had arrested a 32-year-old native of Surat-Gujarat on charges of raping his sister-in-law from Delhi in a villa in Arpora. The woman along with her relatives and friends had come to Goa on vacation and on Sunday the victim along with her relatives and friends decided to go out shopping when suddenly she felt unwell. The accused allegedly assaulted the victim and raped her. The accused was arrested under Sections 376 and 323 of the IPC.
