PERNEM
Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar has stated that a committee of around 20 artistes would be selected to monitor construction work and recommend facilities at the Ravindra Bhavan in Tuem.
Speaking to reporters, Arolkar said the State government has permitted the construction of a Ravindra Bhavan for Pernem taluka at Tuem.
“The process to transfer the land to the Art and Culture Department is in progress. Once this process is completed, the Goa Infrastructure Development Corporation will construct the building,” said Arolkar.
“However, veteran artistes from Pernem would have a decisive role in planning the infrastructure as well as other facilities. A committee of around 20 artistes would be selected to monitor the construction from day one, until the Ravindra Bhavan is inaugurated.”
“The committee will also decide about the facilities to be made available at the Ravindra Bhavan,” Arolkar said the long-pending demand for an art and cultural centre in Pernem will soon be materialised.
