Demanding action against the senior police officials involved in the Assagao case, the Akhil Gomantak Kshatriya Maratha Samaj (AGKMS) has urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to conduct a thorough investigation into the house demolition case by investigating the involvement of the Director General of Police Jaspal Singh.
While demanding action against the culprits without succumbing to any pressure from central government top brass officers lobby, the Maratha Sangh further said the government should not make the innocent a scapegoat, further demanding that the IAS lobby should be kept away from the investigation of this matter. AGKMS has also demanded the revocation of the suspension order on PI Prashal Desai immediately.
AGKMS vice-president Vijay Kumar Desai said this incident is a good example to show the collapse of law and order in the State. “The way this case is taking turns proves to be an act of undemocratic attitude. The suspended Police Inspector Prashal Desai has made serious allegations against DGP Jaspal Singh. If the top police officer is threatening the officers of his own department, then what will be the state of the general public?” he questioned.
