Assault accused remanded further

BICHOLIM: JMFC Bicholim has remanded the suspect arrested in connection with a case of assault to 14 days police custody.

According to Bicholim Police, Purushottam Sonnaik from Karbhat-Chorao had gone to for a video shoot of his ancestral property at Surla-Kothambi, when he was allegedly assaulted by Bhanudas Sonnaik from Surla.

Seriously injured Sonnaik was moved to GMC Hospital in Bambolim from PHC Sakhali. The suspect was later arrested and remanded to four days police custody. Since his remand was over, he was again produced before the court on Friday where JMFC Bicholim remanded him to a further 14 days police custody, informed PSI Gaurish Parab who is investigating the case under the guidance of PI Chimulkar.
