VASCO

MMC Councillor Dhanpal Swamy, who was attacked by unknown persons at Zuarinagar-Birla late Tuesday night, has been admitted to GMC hospital after complaining of excruciating pain in the ribs.

Swamy, who was at the Verna police station on Thursday morning, complained of pain in the ribs and was referred to GMC for examination,

where he was admitted for treatment.

Speaking to the media, police inspector Verna Ninad Devulkar said they had zeroed down on some suspects in the group attack on Swamy.

“While a non-cognizable offence was registered on basis of a complaint by Swami, a team of police was sent to GMC hospital to record the statement of Swamy,” said PI Devulkar.

PI Devulkar also informed that the suspects would be taken to Swamy for identification and if identified, then further action would be initiated.  It may be recalled that Swamy had told police that a group had attacked him late Tuesday night at Zuarinagar.
